| The President Bruno Tosi has been
guest in the wonderful Callas suite at the Raffles Hotel
Vier Jahreszeiten, in the heart of Hamburg, one of the
most famous hotels in the world, where the Divina stayed
so many times. The german town, particularly loved by
Maria Callas (several times she chose it for the beginning
of her triumphal concert tours) has recently housed
the great exhibition “A Woman, a Voice, a Myth”,
in the prestigious setting of the Alsterhaus. Callas
suite is a wide and stylish living room, with plenty
of the singer’s pictures on the walls, videos
and books concerning the prima donna, and, of course,
the background of her unmistakable voice.
The collection of signatures on the site has been, as
always, successful: in fact the Mayor and the Ministry
of Culture of Hamburg, as suggested by Tosi himself,
are thinking to dedicate a street to the greatest singer
of the 20th century, and perhaps of all the times.
Moreover, in the letter sent to Callas Association,
they don’t spare great praises for the big success
of the exhibition at the Alsterhaus, which, in a little
longer than a month, has had one million visitors, a
demonstration of how much german people love the unforgettable
primadonna.
