The “private” room, a homage to Maria Callas the Woman. The Christian Dior nightdress, valuable caftans, BIKI negligées, Maria’s jewel case and the mirror she often used in her changing room.

In the marvellous Sala dei Giganti of the Palazzo Te, the costume used by Placido Domingo in Rigoletto, staged in Mantua in a worldwide telecast production, and the jester’s stick donated by Tito Gobbi to Maria Callas in 1955 and used in the first ever production of Rigoletto, at La Fenice in 1851.

The Teatro dell’Opera of Rome has contributed to this exhibition, lending the costume used by La Divina in Act II of Norma in 1950.
The costume had never been exhibited before.

The Medea room, with the precious necklaces created by Piero Tosi and Pier Paolo Pasolini for the film Medea (1970).

Exhibited for the first time, the correspondence between Maria Callas and Giovan Battista Meneghini, with an autographed photo dedicated to her husband.

The last room, with more letters to her husband.

The Medea room, where the public can watch Maria Callas in the main scenes from the film Medea.

The jewel room and the most famous BIKI dress, chosen by EMI as the logo for its Callas recordings.

The costume for Norma at the Rome Opera House and other jewels.
