CALENDAR CALLAS 2009

13 RARE OR PREVIOUSLY UNPUBILESHED PHOTOS OF MARIA CALLAS, one for each month and the cover photo. For every month there is a quote from interviews given by Callas to newspapers or during radio or Tv interviews.

Every quote is printed in two laguages, italian and english. The photos show mainly Callas "off stage" and her striking and unmistakable beauty is captured by some of the world's greatest photographers.

The calendar 2009 is particularly remarkable since new and and stunning images, bought in Milan at Sotheby's Auction on December 12th 2007 by Callas Association, have been added. In particular they concern the film "Medea" shot 40 years ago by Pier Paolo Pasolini with Callas as protagonist. For the first time we can see the pictures of her wedding (1949), the triumphal "Traviata" in Lisbon and an unusual Maria at Ischia, surprisingly disguised as a smoker during a holiday.
